Hato Mayor del Rey is the capital of the province of Hato Mayor, it is located east of the Dominican Republic, about 1h45 from Santo Domingo and 45 minutes from San Pedro de Macoris.
The economy of the province is essentially based on agriculture such as lemons, oranges, mandarins... a large part of which is exported to the United States, Spain...
The city is not touristic (international tourism) despite the proximity of the Los Haitises National Park, one of the most extraordinary coastal natural heritages of the country, and many ecotourism attractions such as the Salto de Yanigua, the bay of San Lorenzo, the road of the chocolate... Local tourism is well developed with many villas for rent, ranches like Rancho Don Rey, Rancho Doņa Callita, Colinas del Rey...
