Miches is a big village which is located in the northeast of the Dominican Republic, just at the beginning of the bay of Samana, in the province of El Seibo.

It is a village that lives mainly from agriculture and fishing.

Recently tourism development has been booming with the construction of a highway from Punta Cana and the construction of high-end hotel complexes. Club Med opened its second resort in the Dominican Republic, after that of Punta Cana in 1981.

Miches and the surrounding area have beautiful beaches and many tourist and ecotourism attractions. The region has a real ecotourism potential.
