Rio San Juan is a village located north of the Dominican Republic, province of Maria Trinidad Sanchez, 124 miles (200 kms) from Santo Domingo and 43 miles (70km) from Puerto Plata airport.

It is a village by the sea which lies between Cabrera and Gaspar Hernandez. The main activities are fishing, agriculture and animal husbandry. Tourism is well developed thanks to the many beaches in the region (Playa Grande, Caleton, Preciosa, Los Muertos, Los Minos).

Rio San Juan has several small hotels, aparthotels, residences and villas for local and foreign tourists. The town has only one all-inclusive complex and the Playa Grande golf course which is the most important residential complex in the region.
