Nagua is the capital of the province of Maria Trinidad Sanchez, in the northeast of the Dominican Republic. It is an agricultural town with the cultivation of rice, cocoa, orange... and cattle breeding for the production of milk.
Nagua is not a tourist town, there are a few small hotels but no all-inclusive resorts like you find elsewhere in the Dominican Republic. Probably the beaches are not beautiful enough!
However Nagua benefits from an interesting geographical position between the peninsula of Samana and the province of Puerto Plata.
