Pimentel - Dominican Republic

Pimentel is located in Duarte Province, in the north of the Dominican Republic. The area around the town of Pimentel is washed by the rivers Camu, del Java and Cuaba.
The economy of this small town depends mainly on agriculture and livestock, the production of minor crops such as cocoa, coffee, tobacco and bananas and the raising of dairy herds.

The climate is tropical with rainfall distributed throughout the year, with the exception of a dry season.
Pimentel has not developed a tourism industry, although recently there has been a development of ecotourism, especially related to the Loma Quita Espuela Scientific Reserve.
