Presentation of the Residence in Las Terrenas
We stayed in this hotel in Las Terrenas in October 2012.
La
Residencia del Paseo is an aparthotel with studios and apartments
are located in the center of Las Terrenas, in the main street (Calle
Duarte), a few hundred meters to the beach. It is well located in
the center, close to the beach, bars, restaurants, supermarkets,
banks... almost everything can be done on foot, go to the beach,
shopping...
It is not necessary to rent a car when you stay at this hotel, the
beaches of the town, playa Bonita are close to the residence. To
visit the El Limon Waterfall, the beaches of Las Galeras (Playa
Rincon, Playa Fronton, Playa Madame), the Los Haitises park... there
has guaguas or tours.
Despite its location, the hotel is pretty quiet (at least when we're
gone).
The Residencia del Paseo
The entrance is well signposted
on the left side of the street, arriving there is a large parking,
porch leads to the reception which is on the right. It is a building
in a semi-circle around the pool and garden.
All apartments have a terrace overlooking the pool. La Residencia
Del Paseo offers studio and duplex apartments for 1 to 4 people,
they all have a bathroom with shower, terrace with table and chairs,
a kitchen with fridge, hob and utensils for cooking, air conditioning,
cable TV and wifi.
They are fairly well equipped, enough for holidays with family,
couples or friends.
The residence has a beach club, La Yuca Beach Club del Paseo, (
we did not go ) in which it is possible to have breakfast, lunch
and dinner, there are not included in the rates.
The aparthotel also has a laundry service, daily cleaning, baby
setting ($), parking, small pets are accepted as well as major credit
cards.
Our review on the stay
During our stay we were in
a duplex, the entrance is in the living room with a bed left and
right a table with two chairs and TV, then there is the terrace
and small kitchen which has an opening on the terrace.
The bathroom on the left of the living room, with shower, sink and
toilet is quite small.
On the first floor, a wooden staircase leads to a large room with
a double bed. The apartment is furnished fairly standard.
Conclusion
La Residencia del
Paseo in Las Terrenas is a good quality/price ratio for
a holiday in Samana Peninsula, Dominican Republic.
The apartments are functional and the residence is well located.
It is not luxury but it's enough for a pleasant stay and visit Las Terrenas and its surroundings.
