Boca Chica is a small seaside resort in the Dominican Republic, located 10
minutes from Las Americas Airport and 30 minutes from the capital, Santo Domingo.
Boca Chica is renowned for its crystal clear, calm and shallow, but also for
its proximity to the capital. Boca Chica is located on the southern coast of
the Dominican Republic.
Was the dictator Rafael Leonidas Trujillo, who began the development of tourism
in Boca Chica in the 1950, ordering the construction of a modern hotel, the
Hotel Hamaca.
Boca Chica is one of the most beautiful beaches in the country (but not the
quietest, many street vendors roam the beach), its other advantage is its proximity
to the capital, which allows to visit Santo
Domingo's colonial city and enjoy its night life (casinos, bars, discos).
Boca Chica has four all-inclusive hotels and many small hotels and apart-hotels
for all budgets, in the evening the main street (Calle Duarte) is closed to
traffic, bars and restaurants put tables and chairs in the street with loud
music.
