Santo Domingo is the capital of the
Dominican Republic
with its 2.7 million inhabitants, is a festive and noisy city. The Colonial Zone which includes many hotels is the oldest part of the city,
with monuments dating from the colonial era.

The city has no beach, the closest are Boca Chica and Juan Dolio on the east and Playa Palenque and Playa Najayo westward.
